Our Accommodation

If you take our catered package, then you will be staying in the lovely Petit Palais Hotel. A modern and recently renovated 3-star hotel, just a few steps from the main ski lifts and just a few minutes from the town centre. We love it here, the staff are super helpful, the en-suite bedrooms are spacious and comfortable, and there is a large lounge bar and a small gym.

The thing our students love most about staying here is lunch and dinner in the hotel restaurant. The restaurant offers an all-you-can-eat buffet with loads of choices. The Italians like lots of courses, so you can expect a salad bar, cold meats and cheeses, soups, pasta dishes, mains of fish/meat and veg, as well as fruit and dessert. You won’t go hungry.

Scholarship

On our Autumn BASI level 1 & 2 ski instructor course we offer a fantastic level 3 scholarship prize! In addition to our King or Queen prizes for the best overall improvement, we also offer an additional 1-off award to the candidate that shows the most potential to progress onward through the BASI system. This will allow that sponsored and winning trainee instructor to progress onward and upward further into their career as a professional ski instructor.

*PLEASE NOTE – The ISIA BASI level 3 scholarship offer is for 4 weeks ‘training’ only, thus travel, accommodation, lift pass is the responsibility and expense of the trainee. The 4 weeks free training are to be taken the following Autumn and are non-transferable.

The Schedule

WEEK 1 - PERSONAL PERFORMANCE

Week 1 is all about getting out there and skiing. Building the team, building the skills and understanding the ‘fundamentals’ of skiing and how to break down the ‘movements’ and ‘skills’ of ski technique. All Snoworks instructors and Pro trainers are passionate All-Mountain ski teachers who will give you the skills and knowledge to become fabulous and passionate ski instructors yourselves. On week 1 we also look into the ‘Central Theme’, which is the BASI progression for teaching beginners, this will put you in a fantastic position for your first level exam.

WEEK 2 - PERSONAL PERFORMANCE AND TEACHING SKILLS

By now you will have a fantastic grasp of where your skiing level is, understanding ski techniques and breaking down the ‘Fundamentals’. This week allows us to develop the individual aspects that you need to become a rounded and versatile skier and put you in a fantastic position for the level 1 assessments. Also starting this week will be the opportunity for ‘mock’ lessons, as we start to give you the opportunity for structured teaching practice.

WEEK 3 - BASI LEVEL 1 EXAM

This week is your first assessment, and BASI will send one of their examiners to join us in Cervinia, to train and assess you as Level 1 Ski Instructors over 4 days. It is continual assessment throughout the week, thus giving everyone a perfect opportunity to train and learn the necessary skills and knowledge throughout the week. Snoworks Pro trainers will still be on hand to help with your questions and support.

IMPORTANT: Any students that are unfortunately unsuccessful at BASI level 1 will be given further training in weeks 4 and 5 and then presented for re-assessment, in order to be able to continue the remainder of the programme towards and including the level 2 examination. (If this situation were to arise, it will not prevent your chances at full course completion).

WEEKS 4, 5 & 6 - SKI SCHOOL EXPERIENCE, TEACHING EXPERIENCE & CONTINUED PERSONAL PERFORMANCE

The last three weeks under the SnoworksPRO family are a fantastic combination of getting your ‘Teaching hours’ with ‘Mock lessons’ and further study time, to prepare you and give you great confidence in delivering the ski lessons for your level 2 exam, also helping you feel super ready for your season teaching that winter. We combine this with more technical training in any areas you need to individually develop to be in the best possible position to succeed at the level 2 technical standard.

WEEK 7 & 8 - BASI LEVEL 2 EXAM

The BASI level 2  exam is an 8-day course. If/when successfully gained, will allow you to teach skiing around the world, with potential ski instructor job opportunities in Japan, Canada and Europe (depending on our passport).

IMPORTANT: Students that are unfortunately unsuccessful at BASI level 2 will have to take further training following their action plan and then take a re-assessment at their own cost at a later date. Continued support and advice will be given towards the best way to move forward.
